The seats of the Università del caffè in the world were born to spread the culture of coffee

To understand what it means to prepare a perfect espresso, to discover the steps of the long trip of a bean, but also to manage at best a fazenda and to organise work in a plantation: the courses abroad were developed for this.

All foreign teachers are involved in a training process that takes them in Italy, to touch with hands all the knowledge to be transmitted to professionals and producers.

A network connecting all the Udc seats in the world, to enhance the value of culture and to create ad hoc structures in the countries where the University is present.

Brazil

Intended for the training of producers, has centre in Sao Paulo. It proposes two short structured courses, of a four-days duration, dedicated to the economic-financial management and to the succession of the company in the fazendas. The strong point is a nine-months training itinerary: one week per month, 360 hours of lectures, 360 degrees in the world of coffee.

India

Indian producers can attend the courses in Bangalore or enrol in training itineraries organized directly in the production areas, for a continuous improvement of the quality of the green coffee. In cooperation with the Indian Coffee Board, a governmental agency, a campaign for the divulgation of the culture of coffee to consumers is enacted.

South Korea

The courses for baristas and sector-operators take place in Seoul: they are training itineraries which deal with all the basic themes connected to coffee, ranging from the plantations right through to how to serve a perfect espresso.

People's Republic of China

The professionals of the coffee bar in Shanghai can count on theoretical and practical courses on coffee, cappuccino, equipment and tasting, but also on the economic-financial aspects and on the staff. The multimedia classroom, faithful copy of the one in Trieste, offers hospitality to 18 students and each post has a computer and Internet access.

Egypt

Coffee equipment, latte art and practical trainings are the core of the three type of specialistic courses organized by the Università del caffè dell’Egitto. In El Cairo seat also the Coffee Expert course is run in order to give a complete and deep education on coffee and espresso.

Holland

In Gravendeel, the courses for professionals are held in the illycaffè subsidiary’s offices: the main topic studied is the espresso, but a lot of time is dedicated to recipes and to the treatment of milk and cappuccinos. Personalized training sessions are also organized. One curious thing - the Udc in Holland also deals with tea.

The Università del caffè della Francia, with its seat in Paris, it is a teaching institution accredited by the French State. It offers courses addressed to baristas in order to guarantee a complete basic preparation on the coffee and espresso world.

Courses addressed to professionals and coffee lovers fill in the packed schedule of the Udc della Germania. In the München seat there is a wide topic offer not only for cafè managers and baristas, but also for coffee lovers and for people who want to know more about coffee.

Croatia

The Università del caffè della Croatia opened at the end of 2007 and has its seat in Opatija. Theory and practical training are both present in courses addressed to professionals which can choose to deepen topics on espresso and on coffee equipment or on cappuccino and coffee cocktails.

United Kingdom

Università del caffè opens in United Kingdom with the aim of widening the coffee culture in the Anglo-Saxon area, becoming a focus for coffee education. The professionals could acquire the rules and methods to work in an excellent way and the consumers could learn to recognize a perfecly prepared cup of coffee.
